Privacy policy

This policy explains how Chaporo ("I"), who runs Day Trips from Sapporo and its Japanese edition (https://day-trip-sapporo.com, "this site"), handles information. The Japanese version of this policy at /privacy is the original; if the two differ, the Japanese version applies.

Information from the contact form

The contact form (in Japanese; you can write in English) asks for your name, email address and message. To block spam, it also checks the sending IP address and browser type.

• Purpose: only to reply to you.
• Storage: messages are not saved on this site's servers, databases or any third-party form service. They are delivered to me by email.
• Retention: messages may stay in my mailbox after I reply. Ask me if you would like yours deleted.

Sharing with third parties

I do not share personal information with third parties without your consent, except where required by law or where it is needed to protect someone's life, body or property and consent is hard to obtain. This site is delivered and sends email through Cloudflare, Inc., and I receive email through Google LLC.

Security

I protect personal information with encrypted connections (HTTPS), by not storing form messages, and by limiting abusive submissions.

Requests to see, correct or delete your information

If you ask to see, correct, stop using or delete your personal information, I will confirm that you are the person concerned and respond without delay. Please use the contact form.

Advertising

This site uses Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service. Google and other third-party vendors use cookies to show ads based on your previous visits to this site and other sites. Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners show ads based on those visits. Affiliate links

Some pages of the Japanese edition contain affiliate links to products, rental cars and accommodation. Purchases and bookings made through those links are governed by each service's own terms and privacy policy.

Analytics

To improve the site, I use Google Analytics (Google LLC) and Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation). They use cookies and similar technologies to collect anonymous information about page views and how the site is used, which does not identify you personally.
