Misaki is a restaurant in Shakotan run by a sea urchin fisherman, on Road 913 about 1 km past the Shimamui Coast and Cape Shakotan (not to be confused with Misaki no Yu, the hot spring). Shakotan is Hokkaido's sea urchin coast, and Misaki's raw sea urchin bowl is piled high with it.

The sea urchin bowl

It melts in your mouth. There is no fishy smell, only a faint scent of the sea, and it is not salty, so even people who do not like the brininess of sea urchin should enjoy it.

The price follows the catch: it was 3,900 yen in 2024 and 5,800 yen in 2025, and in 2026 it was listed at about 5,600 yen. From June to August it is Shakotan sea urchin; the rest of the season, other Hokkaido sea urchin. In summer there is also a red (bafun) sea urchin bowl, 20 a day.

You buy a meal ticket first, and the staff bring your food; afterwards, return your dishes to the counter. At weekends and on holidays, no second orders.
