Kyogoku Fukidashi Park: Mt. Yotei Spring Water and Cold-Brew Coffee

Quick answers

  • Mt. Yotei's spring water wells up here; it is one of Japan's 100 best waters
  • Cross a suspension bridge to the springs in the forest
  • Cold-brew coffee made with the spring water, with a view of Mt. Yotei

Roadside Station Meisui no Sato Kyogoku, in the town of Kyogoku at the foot of Mt. Yotei, is built around Fukidashi Park, where water that fell on the mountain wells up out of the ground. The Yotei spring here is one of Japan's 100 best waters, and the park is a cool, green place for a short walk in the forest.

The springs and the suspension bridge

From the car park you cross a suspension bridge over the river, and the springs are on the other side. The trees close in around you, and with the sound of running water it is a relaxing place to walk.

Cold-brew coffee with a view of Mt. Yotei

The roadside station has a restaurant and a shop for local products, but the thing to try is the cold-brew coffee made with the spring water, from the coffee stand Cafe Mocha in the grounds. It stands in the open, with a clear view of Mt. Yotei, and iced coffee with Mt. Yotei in front of you is hard to beat.
